Explore the crescent’s influence in South Africa: Halal tours with Go Touch Down

South Africa offers a dizzying variety of different cultures and people, and each has left their own unique mark on this remarkable country. Go Touch Down Travel and Tours is proud to offer their Halaal Signature Tour as the perfect way for you to celebrate the influence of Islamic culture on this unique nation while still drinking in some of her more mainstream sights, sounds and can’t-miss destinations too.

The Halal Signature Tour brings you delectable halal food and the opportunity to explore some of the historic mosques that have helped shape their communities. You’ll kick off your journey at the exceptional Seasons Sport and Spa Resort, where you’ll have the perfect chance to relax, indulge and unwind after your travels. This ensures the perfect mood to explore Humala River Lodge the next day. Part of the Songimvelo Game Reserve, you’ll have the opportunity to sample their delicious high tea, experience the beauty of a sunset safari, and experience some of the best South African cuisine around. At first light you’ll be back in the bush for a dawn wildlife tour, after which you’ll be able to take a bush walk, see the 2000 year old bushman paintings in the local caves, or lounge at the pool. Your final dinner and safari on the reserve will then be celebrated with a special performance by Swazi dancers.

From here, the beauties of the Hartbeespoort area await. You’ll hop on a cable car to the top of the picturesque Magaliesburg Mountains, visit the local Lion Park to learn more about conservation and much more. You’ll also experience the best of the Pilanesberg National Park, blessed with a unique transitional flora that makes for rich animal diversity. From here you will bid Joburg goodbye as you head onwards to Cape Town.

Burgundy Estate will serve as your base here, while you shop til you drop at the V&A Waterfront, explore the historic sights of the city via hop-on, hop-off bus, tackle Table Mountain, peep under the sea at Two Oceans Aquarium and much more.

Here you will also ascend the mountain to Sheikh Noorul Mubeen and learn more about this fascinating figure. You will visit local Kramats to honour the holy men buried there, and also have the opportunity to pay respects to Shaykh Yusuf al-Maqassari. A National hero of two Countries, a Sufi saint, and a reformer in the Islamic Mystical World of the Seventeenth Century. The Kramat of Sheikh Yusuf of Sultanate of Gowa (Makassar), is one of the South African Muslim community’s holiest places and likely to have a profound effect on your tour.  The day will round out with a traditional Cape Malay dinner, some of the very best of local Islamic fare.

Be prepared to lighten the load the next day with a trip to Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town. This is home to the friendly local colony of African Penguins- the perfect opportunity for a selfie! Hour Bay, Mariners Wharf and Cape Point Nature Reserve also await you. The reserve features the coastal point where the stormy Atlantic meets the calmer Indian Ocean. A boat will ferry you out to Seal Island and the infamous shipwreck in Maori Bay, before rounding off the day at the World of Birds, home to over 400 species.

While this remarkable experience may wind down here, your memories never will. You’ll have a last comfortable night on African soil to help you rest up for your travel home, and celebrate the friendships that will last forever.

Go Touch Down Travel and Tours is proud to offer travellers the halal signature tour, bringing you the very best of Islamic South Africa and her many diverse faces.
